The serious reply: While you should be fine, in a large city with
reliable services, in South Africa, I think getting a Hep A
vaccination is a good thing in general. I think South African citizens
get these as babies. I had one in 2012 again, but only because I work
on a sewage works.

Most of the water-related diseases in the south of the continent is
only hazardous on long term exposure without alternative clean
drinking water, which is where the 'more than 3 months' thing comes
in. Going hiking in remote parts, and similar activities (like, maybe
attending a conference?) is still fine, you may just get a runny tummy
for a day or two.

The joking reply: Shirish, surely nothing in South Africa is as bad as
a Delhi-belly???
