Hi conference attendees,
The renowned German newspaper FAZ reported yesterday and today of
a dramatical increase of piggy-flu patients in Germany, which has
apparently been traced to Spain.
The newspaper specifically identifies Mallorca with its cool parties
and hot flirts as the origin.
** There is no evidence of an actual danger in Cáceres, so please
** do not panic. The WHO also deems it safe to travel [0].
I figure it doesn't hurt to bring the topic back into everyone's
awareness, especially since the pandemic threat level continues to
soar at 6, the highest level in use by the World Health Organisation
[1][2].
The following precautions won't hurt and should keep the threat for
everyone at DebConf low, so please be considerate:
- wash your hands regularly [3];
even better: pick up a small bottle or tube of hand disinfectant
at a pharmacy or drug store and use it.
- carry tissues, use them if you sneeze, and sneeze away from people
in any case.
- avoid physical contact (I know it's hard, but…) and large crowds.
Furthermore, if you notice any symptoms of a flu or cold, do not
hesitate to consult a doctor. Experts encourage prior phone contact
as joining a queue in the waiting room might not be the best idea.

Remember, there is no reason to panic, just be aware, sensible, and
considerate.
