Announcing cdrskin-0.4.0

Hi,

be invited to try the new version 0.4.0 of my program cdrskin,
a burn backend for CD and DVD.

It has aquired more capabilities as demonstrated by growisofs and it
provides better compatibility to its paragon cdrecord, including the
option to fallback to cdrecord or wodim for exotic CD burning jobs.
This allows by a single unified command line interface to make use of
cdrskin's advanced DVD capabilities and of cdrecord's knowledge about
confidential CD standards.

System requirements:
  Linux with kernel 2.4 or 2.6.

Changes:
* New option direct_write_amount=
* New option --grow_overwriteable_iso
* New option --allow_emulated_drives dev=stdio:<path>
* More cdrecord options supported: -format, -inq, -load, -lock, -immed, -waiti
* New option fallback_program=

For more info, see http://scdbackup.sourceforge.net/cdrskin_eng.html
                   http://scdbackup.sourceforge.net/man_1_cdrskin.html

Download:

There is a cdrskin release tarball (containing libburn):
  http://scdbackup.sourceforge.net/cdrskin-0.4.0.pl00.tar.gz
and single binaries in tar wrappers:
  http://scdbackup.sourceforge.net/cdrskin_0.4.0.pl00-x86-suse9_0.tar.gz
  http://scdbackup.sourceforge.net/cdrskin_0.4.0.pl00-x86-suse9_0-static.tar.gz
The latter is supposed to run on most systems with kernel 2.4 or 2.6.

scdbackup.sourceforge.net is mirrored at scdbackup.webframe.org .

cdrskin is also part of the libburn-0.4.0 SVN tag:
  http://svn.libburnia-project.org/libburn/tags/ZeroFourZero
(needs autotools >= 1.7 to apply command ./bootstrap)

and of the libburn-0.4.0 release tarball:
  http://files.libburnia-project.org/releases/libburn-0.4.0.tar.gz
(needs only vanilla tools for ./configure ; make)

Post bug reports or requests
either to the libburnia ticket system:
  http://libburnia-project.org/newticket
or to one of these mailing lists:
  mailto:libburn-hackers@pykix.org
  mailto:cdwrite@other.debian.org
or directly to me:
  mailto:scdbackup@gmx.net

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
