Title: RE: Ideas - :-[ STOP DE-ICING failed with sk=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=05h]: Inp ut/output error?

I've given up...

I'm using the same media (DVD+RW), and THE SAME drive from the older Dell Precision 360.  The differences are: New machine - Dell Precision 380, and a slightly upgraded version of the OS - now using RHEL 3.0 Update 5 (I was using update 3.  I was using dvd+rw-tools version 5.19 (didn't work), then tried upgrading to version 6.1 (also didn't work).

I'm now shadowing my backups on another machine (off site) rather than using DVD.

I can't understand why this is incompatible media when it worked flawlessly on the old machine.

For problems like this, it would help a lot if the program did use
libscg which outputs readable error messages.

cannot write medium - incompatible format
