LITE-ON SOHW-1673SX DVD+RW fails to write DVD+R media

LITE-ON SOHW-1673SX DVD+RW external USB burner writes DVD+RW media but
fails to write DVD+R ones.

Here are lsusb, cat /proc/scsi/scsi, dmesg | tail, and cdrecord -scanbus
commands outputs of the state before writing DVD+R disc:

Everything works good and I can to write and read DVD+RW discs using
/dev/sr7 device.

This is the information about Verbatim DVD+R disc:

Now I try to write some files on that disc...

root@home3:~/DATA/TEMP# growisofs -Z /dev/sr7 -R -J .
Executing 'mkisofs -R -J . | builtin_dd of=/dev/sr7 obs=32k seek=0'

:-( unable to WRITE@LBA=0h: No such device
:-( write failed: No such device

The command above displays first two lines of output, stops for a long
while, the burner turns the disc, and at the end the command displays
last two lines of output.

Commands lsusb and cat /proc/scsi/scsi display the same information as
before, but the output of dmesg | tail and cdrecord -scanbus changes:

root@home3:~/DATA/TEMP# dmesg | tail -n 30

Summary:

1. I can read and write DVD+RW discs, but when I try to write DVD+R one,
my burner is set offline. To reset it I need to restart the system. This
isn't enough to unplug the burner and plug it once again.

2. I updated the firmware of my burner from JS07 to JS0C, but the result
is the same.

3. I tried to use command growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/sr7 -R -J . and
the result is the same.

4. My burner is a brand new device, so I think I don't need to open it,
to clean the lens of the laser, and... to lose the warranty.

5. I tried to burn DVD+R disc using Windows and ThinkVantage Rescue and
Recovery program (IBM software for ThinkPad laptops). Success! So I can
to burn DVD+R media in Windows, but I can't to do it in Linux. Why?

I use Slackware 10.1 (cdrtools 2.01 and dvd+rw-tools 5.21.4.10.8).
