Thanks for the tip, but it does not work:

  cdfs 2.6.12 loaded.
  cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!
  ioctl(CDROMREADTOCHDR) failed
  cdfs_toc_read failed
  ioctl(CDROMREADTOCHDR) failed
  cdfs_toc_read failed

In fact, the faulty dvd only have one session (as far as I can tell
with dvd+rw-mediainfo) and have 2 tracks :

READ TRACK INFORMATION[#1]:
 Track State:           partial/complete
 Track Start Address:   0*2KB
 Free Blocks:           0*2KB
 Track Size:            2210400*2KB
READ TRACK INFORMATION[#2]:
 Track State:           blank
 Track Start Address:   2210416*2KB

 Free Blocks:           84688*2KB
 Track Size:            84688*2KB
