Well first let me note that you of courcee need to call cdrecord as root
or on Linux-2.6.8.1or newer some commands will silently not work.
This may make it impossible to use -immed corrertly.

Thanks to the Linux kernel people...

I forgot to mention that -imme only works together with -v

If you like to debug -immed, add the xd=1 option to the commandline.
