OK, good to know. Any way around this?

cdrecord-prodvd only tries to burn at 6x, which means it's basically useless.

growisofs is a _little_ more compatible. With some discs, it'll let me choose
a speed, and it'll actually work -- others, I can only choose certain speeds.

Hahaha, feature? I have no clue.. all I know is that this is what the drive
reports...

Thanks for the reply.
