DRU-120 is based on Ricoh MP4125A and therefore "Several 2nd generation
unit (Ricoh MP5125A and derivatives) users have reported that their
systems lock up the while recording DVD+R, but not DVD+RW" from the

to it too.

Update your firmware. Sony (as well as others) ougth to provide at least
1.51.

I don't think it's related to image size, rather to media brand and/or
batch.

Originally problem manifested itself as total system lock-up in such
situation, when the unit failed to start the recording. Now the kernel
lock-up is fixed, but it doesn't change the fact that the unit hangs.
Firmware should resolve the latter problem. A.
