There is no such thing as 1xDVD+R, it's either 2.4x or 4x.

Yes, this is most compatible recording. But in either case...

??? Both are apparently pure CD-ROM units, *not* capable of DVD
playback!!! The fact that you see "ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive" does *not*
actually mean that unit is capable of DVD playback. "ATAPI Optical
Storage drive" would probably be more appropriate message, as the kernel
doesn't really care to tell apart CD-ROM from DVD-ROM units, there is no
need for that [from kernel viewpoint]. Please be more attentive and do
your homework. A.
