Just to give you a confirmation - it seems nobody is willing to step up (or
even answer your request). The right place for further inquiries should be
debian-events-na@lists.debian.org - but please be aware that the topic has
been raised there already. Further mail to events@debian.org for the same
event will probably not be helpful as only Europeans will read it (these
days) and I do not believe that any of them would be willing to travel so
far unless travel sponsorship is promised.
