Bug#24223: apt and packaging manual are in contradiction
reassign 34223 apt
When importing the packaging manual into the policy document, I left
out the chapter on interfaces to dselect; as Enrique said earlier in
this bug report:
> I think the "dselect methods" chapter doesn't belong in the packaging
> manual. It says nothing about how to make a package. It talks about
> technical details in dselect's interface for its methods. It should be
> moved to a dpkg technical manual.
So as the packaging manual is now deprecated, this section is not
included in the current policy document and there is no dpkg technical
manual at present, I'm reassigning this bug report back to apt. If it
is regarded as no longer relevant, please feel free to close it.
