Re: dpkg-get and closed door development ...
In certain cultures, suicide is does not have the same
negative connotation it appears to have in Judeo-christian
cultures. It would seem that a package, seeing that newer or more
capable packages are available, realizing that it's time has passed,
removes it self (sepukku), and that is indeed a noble act on part of
the said package.
Rather than fighting the inevitable, and going out with little
dignity, having to be forced, et all -- it goes out with out a fuss.
Such a noble sacrifice, for the good of the whole.
Far from negative, I should think.
Not to speak harshly and not to harm others, self restraint in
accordance with the rules of the Order, moderation in food, a
secluded dwelling, and the cultivation of the higher levels of
consciousness - this is the teaching of the Buddhas. 185
