Commit 809e2841aaa54662a42498aacec558bc813bba1c on master and

xserver repo.

Yes, this is a known deficiency of the documentation. You can try Option
"NoPM" in Section "ServerFlags" (xorg.conf manpage) or the -noacpi
command line switch.
