Bug#192602: Bug in xserver-xfree86 currupting video display.

First, it doesn't display an error message, per se. Well, example one,
is: www.tentacle.net/~awk/snapshot1.jpg It's lost some quality do to how
much I compressed it. www.tentacle.net/~awk/snapshot1.png is the original
png.
Using aptitude, I upgraded xserver-xfree86 from the version in stable
(4.1.0-16) to the version in unstable (4.2.1-6), that's when the problem
showed up.
The incorrect behavior is essentially display curruption.

www.tentacle.net/~awk/snapshot2.png are my second example.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^3.jpg and
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^3.png are the final examples. All three
screenshots were taken on an earlier instance of this problem. And, all
three of the screenshots are huge (1024x768 fullscreen, about 2.5megs
total. The jpegs are less than 300k in all.)
The only way I've found to fix it is to downgrade to the older version.
(ie 4.1.0-16).

May be xserver-common, I only narrowed it down to the xserver-(whatever)
recently. But I figure that that's closer than when I first tried fixing
it a month ago.
I once observed a similar problem with a s3virge on a winbox, with the
default win98 s3 driver that went away when upgrading to the more
up-to-date driver, but the similar problem only affected text.... And as
anyone who looks at the screenshots can see, the problem affects more than
just text.
Further, it's inconsistant as to what it affects, xmms is affected, (first
screenshot), but other apps are less affected. (gqview, kq(rpg), gimp, and
a few others don't exhibit this problem.)

Oh, and this bug does really weird things with the mouse pointer, but my
screenshot program doesn't capture the pointer.
