Problem with xf86cfg

Hello,

I recently installed the XFree86 4.0.2-1pre2v2 debs
from people.debian.org/~branden and xf86cfg doesn't
seem to work. When I start it, the screen flickers and
shows xf86cfg for a second and then goes blank and
comes back as plain twm. Here is the end of the output
after killing the xserver:

(II) Keyboard "Keyboard0" handled by legacy driver
(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Mouse0"
(type: MOUSE)
Could not init font path element
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/, removing from list!

Module ABI versions:
        XFree86 ANSI C Emulation: 0.1
        XFree86 Video Driver: 0.3
        XFree86 XInput driver : 0.1
        XFree86 Server Extension : 0.1
        XFree86 Font Renderer : 0.2

Could not init font path element
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/, removing from list!
X connection to :8.0 broken (explicit kill or server
shutdown).

And here is the output at the end of the log file in
/var/log:

(II) Keyboard "Keyboard0" handled by legacy driver
(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Mouse0"
(type: MOUSE)
Could not init font path element

As a side note, startx runs fine with the same debs
using the configuration file created when I installed
them. However, I would really like to figure out why
xf86cfg won't work and most likely if I have the
problem then probably other people will too.

Thanks,
Avery Fay
