FWIW I thought the same thing when I read the intitial email. If we
were going to have a social network 'thing' then something like Diaspora
(except I cannot spell it without typoing it) would be a better fit.
It doesn't mean I'm going to set it up and expect anyone else to, unless
they want to do it anyhow.
