Package: wiki.debian.org Severity: important Following instructions on http://wiki.debian.org/MultimediaCodecs page to use debian-multimedia.org to install ffmpeg (and other related) files totally breaks vlc package from debian squeeze main rendering vlc useless (no video in my case, just a black screen). The conflict between debian-multimedia.org ffmpeg files and debian stable vlc package is a well known problem and is documented/discussed in many places including debian users forum ( http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=65954 ). The wiki page in question should be either totaly removed or seriosly revisited. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores)

Since this is a wiki you could do it yourself. If you're unsure about the changes you want to make you can try asking pkg-multimedia group on alioth. I'm closing this bug since I don't think issues about wiki *content* belong in the BTS.
