The problem with 601337 was, that it wasn't discussed anywhere and with
none actually involved, neither with the events people nor with the web
people.
I guess the best approach would indeed be to discuss it on the publicity
list, with an initial bcc to -www, so they know that something is
discussed and may follow it if they like.
