The following statement appears in Section 5.3 of the FAQ:"Currently, stable is a symbolic link to etch (i.e. Debian GNU/Linux 4.0) and testing is a symbolic link to lenny."
According to the Debian Releases page, stable should be a link to sarge, and testing a link to etch.
