Because there is no clean way to have each mirror point to a
different location. The install used to point into ftp.debian.org
but that caused a lot of headaches since newbies couldn't
cope with that.

The images are fairly static and only take 100MB. If the size
makes a difference, I'd rather see the images on the mirrors
then the Lists-Archives.
