Bug#486671: ITP: ntl -- C++ library for arbitrary precision integers, vectors, matrices, and polynomials
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: David Bremner <bremner@unb.ca>
* Package name : ntl
Version : 5.4.2
Upstream Author : Victor Shoup <victor@shoup.net>
* URL : http://www.shoup.net/ntl
* License : GPL
Programming Lang: C++
Description : arbitrary precision numbers, vectors, matrices and polynomials
Vcs-Git: git://git.debian.org/git/debian-science/packages/ntl
Vcs-Browser: http://git.debian.org/?p=debian-science/packages/ntl.git
(from the web site)
NTL provides algorithms for:
* arbitrary length integer arithmetic and arbitrary precision
floating point arithmetic;
* polynomial arithmetic over the integers and finite fields
including basic arithmetic, polynomial factorization,
irreducibility testing, computation of minimal polynomials,
traces, norms, and more;
* lattice basis reduction, including very robust and fast
implementations of Schnorr-Euchner, block Korkin-Zolotarev
reduction, and the new Schnorr-Horner pruning heuristic for
block Korkin-Zolotarev;
* basic linear algebra over the integers, finite fields, and
arbitrary precision floating point numbers.
There is some very rough (i.e. at the moment only the -dev package has content)
packaging in the debian-science repo; see above for URLs.
Co-Maintainers welcome.
