Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

Description : An open source implementation of DMTF system management standards.
(RLE) An excerpt from README:
OpenWBEM is a set of software components that help facilitate the
deployment of the DMTF's (Distributed Management Task Force) CIM/WBEM
technologies. If you are not familiar with the DMTF and it's technologies,
you might want to visit their web site at http://www.dmtf.org.
This software was initially developed by Caldera International and
released to the opensource community under a BSD style license for further
maturation and additional platform support. On initial release, all of the
software components were written in C++. We expect this to change as the project
evolves and developers add more components to the suite.
(RLE) This is a part of my effort of adding WBEM capabilities to Debian.
As OpenWBEM implements only a bare framework (say, 'core'), there are
more software packages needed to create a functional WBEM system
management solution, notably sblim* packages and some WBEM clients.
Currently I have a proof-of-concept solution consisting of openwbem
CIMOM server, three sets of management provider plugins and a simple
WBEM client. However, it still lacks many of debian policy requirements:
a Debian-compliant version of all packages will be available soon (I
hope :)
