I have a bunch of IBM servers and I had no problems installing
Sarge on it using Linux 2.4.24 and not 2.4.32.

Which controler have problems with drivers under Debian?

Do you have the sources for the drivers?
If yes, you can compile it for Debian

Maybe you should contact <debian-isp@lists.debian.org>
since there are some profis on it.
