few questions about xorg 7.1

Hi everyone !

I've noticed that Xorg 7.1 is now in sid.

I'm using ATI's proprietary drivers with a Radeon 9250 and i'm wondering 
if updating is safe. Has anyone tried ?

I've read on Wikipedia that AIGLX is part of Xorg since 7.1
Does this mean that hardware accelerated desktop is now part of Debian ?
