dctc/rccp -> direct connect documentation on debian?

I'm looking to use a console client for the Direct
Connect protocol. The dctc/rccp combination looks
promising but I can't find documentation to start
me up.

Running:
dctc -n username -s /path/to/share/dir \
-p port -f -g hub.address

Gives me:

NFO ] ""Direct Connect Text Client v0.85.9|
hubip: hub-hoppers.hopto.org hubport: 411
Using 64.26.170.130 as localhost IP.
ERR ] ""No client capabilities set: default to
'/CAPAB MD4x'.|

and then nothing. I can't even stop the
application with ^C, I have to kill it -9.

Running rccp gives me the help screen and refers
me to the dctc documentation, which is nowhere to
be found.

Has anybody got this working on Sarge?
