Thanks for that. In fact, my entire apt system went so haywire I've done a complete re-install. If this problem returns I'll be ready to use your advice.

Not that I know of - I did used to reply in answer to that question "A rather distant cousin as far as we can work out ..." but I've since found out that he wasn't actually a very nice person so I'm no longer so keen on claiming a most probably fictitious relationship!
