Does this mean ``sound works when logged in as root and not for other users''?
Are the appropriate devicesin /dev/ created? HAve you re-run alsaconfig?
Did the user log out and login again after modifying the group?
What is the version of alsa and udev?
Are the sound modules being loaded?
