How do you make and use modules for the install?

Hi there,

I'm trying to install Debian Sarge on my Dell Dimension 5150 using the
netinst CD.
There are two problems:
1. The HD is not recognized. The controller is an Intel 82801GB,
connected to a SATA hard drive.
2, The Network card is not recognized. It is an Intel PRO 100/VE.

I've read elsewhere that the HD problem may be solved by modprobing
sata_piix. However, this module is not on the installation CD.

Apparently, the second problem can be solved by tweaking the source
files of the eepro100 module.

So, here are my questions:

- How do I get the sources for the eepro100 module? Is that just
a simple apt-get? How do I then make it into a kernel module?

- How do I get a copy of the sata_piix module?

- Once I have these modules, how do I make a netinst installation
CD with the two on them?

Any help is much appreciated, especially pointers to documentation.
