This looks exactly like what I need.

(I accidentally sent my original reply to Thomas, and not the list.  Sorry)

I'm still trying to figure out just how to impliment it.  Has anyone 
done this witha Debian system?  I would like to use a 2.6.x kernel if 
possible.
