I'm not a very experienced user. I was using Debian Woody on a machine
containing an integrated Promise FastTrak 100 Lite controller in RAID1
(MSI Pro266TD Master-LR motherboard). I tried to install Debian Sarge
on this hardware, but it looks like it doesn't detect this hardware
When I start the woody installation with the 2.4 kernel I get the
following devices at the disk drive configuration:
selecting the first one installs the system correctly.
When I tried this with sarge (2.4 kernel, 2.6 kernel, doesn't mather)
I get the following devices at the disk drive configuration:
IDE5 master (hde)
IDE6 master (hdg)
It looks like, that the installer only detect the bare drives, but not
the raid controller.
If I choose one of the drives it install the system but I get a kernel
panic on the first system start.
Can anybody tell me how can I install sarge on the configuration above?
Thank you in advance
