video slower than sound

hi, recently as i was watching video in Xine on my Sarge system i found 
out the video is slightly slower(or more accurately - it's shown a bit 
later) than the accompanying sound(the singer opens her mouth a bit 
later then you can hear her sing:)).
don't you know what could be the problem?
it seems i've got no problem with sound (i'm using ALSA), while 
configuration i got no errors and sound applications do not crash..
