Tried startx with full pathname, wich gave me an error message. It
seems like I've been wrong about what was to blame. The new partition
has done nothing damage, but that were some changes in the nVidia
module (most likely during my last apt-get -u dist-upgrade).

I still feel abit clueless on how to fix the problem. If i understood
the errormessage right there are a mismatch between nVidia kernel
module and kernel.

I have kernel ver. 2.4.27-1-386

Thanks for all the help!! Cheers, Vegard
