Maybe you can use bootcd: 

http://packages.debian.org/unstable/utils/bootcd

Or use the livecd tools in berlios page:

http://livecd.berlios.de/

Or read this article about modify the knoppix cd:

Maybe the knoppix option is a good starting point.
