Two quick loosely related questions:
A few weeks ago I had reccomended a friend to use the netinst debian
sarge installer to try out Debian.
I also told him to try the small (ca. 30 MB) image.
This one did NOT have the driver for his network adapter (he was
installing under XP under Virtual PC something like VMWare).
He then tried with the 110MB image and all was fine.
Question 1) Where is a list of devices supported by the kernel found ?
Question 2) More in general what is the quickest way of assessing what
options and/or patches are used to compiled one of the Debian
distributed kernels ?
Thank you for your great work. I find the netinst the best way to
install a Linux system.
