I've again googled me silly and found that hotplug or discover1 might
load the OSS driver before the ALSA drivers and that might be the
problem (this would also explain the strange numbers of lsmod).

So I added:

# pico /etc/hotplug/blacklist
add:
i810_audio
ac97_codec

# pico /etc/discover.conf
add:
skip i810_audio
skip ac97_codec

But that doesn't help too.
Anyone please ? *desperate*
