Stop right there:  bad idea.  Don't even try to mix stable with newer
distros.  It's all or nothing: Stick with stable or move on.  If you
want fresher packages, check http://www.backports.org/ or
http://www.apt-get.org/ for the apt sources with backports to stable.

For future reference, you might want to check the archives, as you're
not the first person to ask a similar question.  ESR has written a
pretty handy guide for surviving the stumper question.
