Re: question, new to list

Hi Again,

Has anyone out there installed debian on an AS4000? What video card did you set it up for?

Hi,
I'm new to the list, and to Debian. I have played around with other linux distro's before but not much with debian. Anyway, I have an
AS4000 alpha server that I installed Debian Release 3.0r1 on. The
installation went well, and the computer rebooted fine. I do seem to
have a problem with my video card though. I know that I initially
entered the wrong card. Is there a program that I can run (in text
mode) that will allow me to change the video card. When the computer
rebooted it did ask me if I wanted it to try and run the X
confiurator. I said yes several times, btu each time the computer
locked up after displaying a bunch or random colors.

Welcome to Debian!

Try "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86". There's always "xf86config",
too.

HTH,
Jacob
