..1: you _are_ trying to fetch mail from your isp???
See ScruLoose question, if he guesses right, you 
want procmail here.  

..2: you are preconnecting with ssh from localhost to your popserver?
Rip out your personals such as popserver, username and password 
and post the config file.

..3: chk 'ping popserver' and 'traceroute popserver' etc to fix the
connestion, dns etc to your popserver.
