Again problem in using pptp-linux.

Hi,
I am a debian 3.0 user. I have to use the vpn
connection in my school hostel, but i cannot set it
correctly so i cannot connect to the internet now. The
hostel have provided the method for Windows XP to
connect, and I do it and connect to the Internet
successfully.

In the instruction of Windows XP, my school ask us
to edit the vpn connection:

"a) in the Security tab of the properties dialog box
for the VPN connection, choose Advanced (cution
settings) and click Settings.

b)For Data encryption, choose Optional encrytpion. And
choose Allow these protocols for Logon security. Check
Unencrypted password(PAP), Microsoft CHAP(MS-CHAP) and
Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2). Then click OK
button to finsh the setting."

How to do in pptp-linux so that the above
instruction can work in debian?

I have followed the instructions in the website
http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/howto-debian.phtml,
but still cannot on line. Here is some error messages"

debian:/etc/ppp# pon provider updetach
debian:/etc/ppp# pon tunnel
/usr/sbin/pppd: The remote system (PPTP) is required
to authenticate itself
/usr/sbin/pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable
secret (password) for it to use to do so.

from connect-errors
anon warn[pptp_gre_bind:pptp_gre.c:95]: connect:
Network is unreachable
anon fatal[main:pptp.c:228]: Cannot bind GRE socket,
aborting.
anon warn[pptp_gre_bind:pptp_gre.c:95]: connect:
Network is unreachable
anon fatal[main:pptp.c:228]: Cannot bind GRE socket,
aborting.

I do not know what is going on.

Insteads, my school only provide the instruction for
the Redhat 7.x to connecet. Here is the options my
school suggest:

lock debug mtu 1000
nobsdcomp
nodeflate
noaccomp
nopcomp
novj
defaultroute
names xxxxxx(my login name)

so how to convert them into debian pptp-linux version?

Here is my chap-secrets, options.pptp and peers/tunnel
files in my computer"

----chap-secrets
# Secrets for authentication using CHAP
# client server secret IP addresses
(my login name of my school's vpn) vpn.xxx.xxx.xxx (my
password)
~

-----options.pptpock
noauth
nobsdcomp
nodeflate

-----peers/tunnel

pty "pptp vpn.cuhk.edu.hk --nolaunchpppd"
name s036000
remotename PPTP
require-mschap-v2
require-mppe-128
file /etc/ppp/options.pptp
ipparam tunnel
