problem with ppp.o and agpgart.o X Wont start

I recently attempted to use this mailing list however came into
problems. Although I read the documentation On how to use the mailing
list I was still stuck. I received many helpful e mails pointing me in
the right direction especially from a person called Alex. I apologies if
I've wasted anybody's time with emails sent however although using many
varieties of Linux before im finding it extremely difficult to get
Debian up and running correctly on my system. As well as receiving many
helpful e mails I also received a lot of rubbish such as messages like
"ive not had to put anybody On my kill list recently" although this type
of message is wonderfully insightful and extremely humorous it does not
help Me in using this mailing list or getting my x server up and
running. Also I would like to apologize for using Microsoft outlook for
writing these messages as soon as I get Linux running I can use ximian
or emacs.

I managed to get my Xserver running by recompiling the kernel with agp
support (I have i810 onboard graphics) after this I needed an internet
connection from Linux however for this I needed the ppp.o module. I
recompiled the kernel with this module and once booted up used pon and
the connection seemed to work fine. However when I typed startx I got
the message saying that there was no agpgart once again. I recompiled
the kernel numerous times with the correct modules for the i810 card
however x still wont start.

The messages I get are X10: fatal 10 error 104 (connection reset by
peer) on Xserver ":0.0"
After 0 requests (0 known processes) with 0 events remaining

When I use indmod agpgart.o I get couldn't find the kernel version the
module was compiled for
When I use modprobe agpgart I get modprobe Cant locate module agpgart

Once again sorry for using outlook and thanks for all of the help
