Alright. I recently got the exact same card working (sort of) on my
machine, so here's what I had to do:
Upgrade to a newer kernel. I believe you need 2.4.x or higher to run the
kernel module you need. Dselect should make this easy (sort of), just make
sure you pick the correct image for your processor type. I wound up
picking kernel-image-2.4.16-k7 for my computer.
Install ALSA, the sound program that works with the SiS cards. I can't
remember the exact package name, but a search on ALSA should bring up the
right ones. Select everything that's relevant (i.e. alsabase,
alsaconf, docs, etc.)
Run alsaconf (and make sure you selected this package in the previous
set). Select the Trident 4D hard when it asks for your card type--this is
the chipset with which the SiS7012 is compatible.
This should get you the right kernel modules and part of the right
installation. But other tweaking may be necessary--I'm still having a few
problems with my sound, although the steps that I mentioned here have
worked fine.

Jesus asked them, "Who do you say that I am?"
And they answered, "You are the eschatological manifestation of the ground
of our being, the kerygma in which we find the ultimate meaning of our
interpersonal relationship."
And Jesus said, "What?"
