Installing Woody on a P2 box that lists it's video card as S3Trio64V PCI in Windows 98. X crashes when I try it. So I tried using the XF86Config-4 that was generated automagically by Knoppix 3.1. It uses a vesa driver in place of the S3Trio driver I'd selected. It works just fine in Knoppix and it does not crash in Debian but the video display is wierd with lots of window painting following the mouse pointer. Pointers please. tia Bob
