See /usr/share/consolefonts/ for various fonts...

And /etc/console-tools/config to set defaults like:

SCREEN_FONT=iso01.f16
APP_CHARSET_MAP=iso01
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc1=user
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc2=user
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc3=user
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc4=user
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc5=user
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc6=user
APP_CHARSET_MAP_vc7=user

You can test out fonts with "consolechars" in the console-tools package.

Some of the fonts in /usr/share/consolefonts are quite interesting...
