System reboots automatically

Hi,
I have a werid problem that my system will reboot automatically for no apparent reason.
Before it reboots , it is stalled for some time,it normally happens when I am running xmms or even galeon. But that is not always the case, sometimes it reboots when no software is running.

My var/log/messages contain the following lines.
Jul 19 10:17:21 pathangay gconfd (khosla-533): GConf server is not in use, shutting down.
Jul 19 10:17:21 pathangay gconfd (khosla-533): Exiting

Jul 19 11:44:51 pathangay gconfd (khosla-3698): starting (version 1.0.9), pid 3698 user 'khosla'
Jul 19 11:56:29 pathangay -- MARK --
Jul 19 12:19:28 pathangay syslogd 1.4.1#10: restart.

The rest are the normal boot up messages.I have woody running and my kernel version is 2.4.18.

Can anyone give me any pointers to where the problem may lie.
Thanks
Kapil
