problem w/ snes9x debian packages

Hi,

I just installed snes9x-x and snes9x-opengl w/ apt-get, and the X
version works fine (except i can't get it to go full screen), but the
opengl version fails w/ this message:

X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  Major opcode of failed request:  1 (X_CreateWindow)
  Serial number of failed request:  23
  Current serial number in output stream:  24

I tried compiling snes9x from source and got the same result... any idea
what this means and how i could fix it?
