plz help: nautilus does not start!

I've installed a brand new woody-debian last week. I installed
nautilus too because it worked well under the potato-debian I was
using before.
My problem is: I installed nautilus, nautilus-suggested and
nautilus-extra (strangely there is no mozilla embed package in woody)
but when I started it beneath gnome it didn't work. I had no errors
neither nautilus window. It's quite strange because I have a fully
new installed system with update packages (got ADSL) and no strange
conf files. I just installed evolution, mozilla, galeon and nautilus
and I started gnome - with absolutely no errors - only a few times.
I tried:
1 launching nautilus again.
2 deleting conf directories (.gnome .nautilus ecc)
3 using nautilus-clean.sh
4 using .nautilus and other conf dirs from my old system
(potato-debian with nautilus working)
5 killing and restarting processes.
6 reinstalling nautilus and updating all packages many times

but I got nothing. nautilus still doesn't work.

I have no error messages on syslog but when I log out after trying
to launch nautilus I see (ps U user) that some processes belonging
to my user are still running.
Could my problem be related to that?
Do Any other debian-woody users have the same problem?

I post my "ps U user" output during gnome session and after (log out)
if it may be useful.
