Re: APCUPSD doesn't shutdown machine

You might try the nut mailing list. Usually it is very helpful and backed up
by upstream. The address is ups@lists.exploits.org.

I'm having problems with nut right now. The command "upsc" which I guess is
supposed to give you some command line monitoring functionality isn't working.
In addition, I can't find anything describing this command. There is no man
page for it, and upsc doesn't have any help or usage functions with in it that I
can gleam info. from either.

Maybe somebody can send there working config files so that I can try them. I'm
running an APC Smart-UPS 700.

So far, I see two config. files that don't exist.
1) /etc/nut/upsd.users
2) /etc/nut/ups.conf

The README.Debian file doesn't mention the ups.conf file at all. However, the
docs in the nut-doc package has ups.conf all over.

I get the impression that these packages (nut, apcd, apcupsd) were never
actually tested with a ups in Debian by the package maintaner??
So far, I have gone the farthest with apcupsd in that it actually contacted my
UPS and put an entry in the syslog, however never did the shutdown.

I guess I'll try apcd next...any other UPS shutdown packages out there?

You have agreement on that!
