libc6, libdb2

Hi there,

I use potato r3 with 2.4 kernel
Version of libc6 was 2.2-6 (taken from woody some time ago)
and libdb2 was 2:2.4.14-2.7.7.1.c (from potato r3).
Everything was working well. Now I upgraded libc6 to 2.2.3-1 and (because
of dependences) libdb2 to 2.7.7-7. After that syslogd don't start and
iptables writes
'version GLIBC_2.1 not defined in file libdb.so.3 with link time reference'.

When I downgrade libdb2 to previous version I can start syslogd. (But I'm
not so
brave to reboot system.)

What is better: return to previous version of libs or using libc6 2.2.3-1
with
libdb2 2:2.4.14-2.7.7.1.c ? Or is it possible to go round this problem.
Upgrade all to woody or recompile all is rather impossible.

Regards
Chris
