RE: glibc and Oracle problem

Further to my previous message. I saw the "obvious" solution,
downloaded the glibc.2.1.3 deb file, and used
dpkg-deb -x package directory
to extract its contents.
This has given me the libraries i neded, however it seems that I also
need a file
libc_nonshared.a
Is this a special generated by Oracle, or is it in another package?
